Raimund Nagel ist Arbeitsgruppenleiter in der Abteilung Pflanzenphysiologie am Institut für Biologie. Er lehrt Pflanzenphysiologie und erforscht den sekundären Stoffwechsel von Pflanzen und Pflanzen-assoziierten Bakterien, insbesondere die Gibberellin-Produktion phytopathogener Bakterien. Ziel sind ein besseres Verständnis darüber, wie Bakterien die Pathogenantwort von Pflanzen unterlaufen können und wie Pflanzen sekundäre Metabolite synthetisieren, um sich vor Pathogenen und Herbivoren zu schützen.
