Anthropogenic hybridization is an increasing concern for global biodiversity conservation, as it may have deleterious consequences for the genomic integrity and viability of wild populations.

These include the reduction in fitness and in adaptive potential, and the loss of genotypes and phenotypes that have unique evolutionary histories.

In this project, we are investigating the behavioural and cognitive consequences of the introgression of dog genes in wolves (Canis lupus), using behavioural observations and experimental approaches in a group setting.

The project is part of the Wolfness consortium funded by Biodiversa, and is run in collaboration with Katja Liebal and other international researchers, including Paolo Ciucci, Linda Oña and our PhD student Manon Delaunay.
