I am interested in how we can understand and harness natural processes and plant-plant interactions for sustainable management. My focus is on silviculture and biodiversity-ecosystem functioning relationships in mixed-species forests and agroforestry systems. Currently I use dendroecological approaches and data synthesis to examine the effects of biodiversity on tree growth and growth stability during drought. I am member of the DFG International Research Training Group TreeDì - 林地 at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig: https://www.idiv.de/en/treedi.html
