Module for Bachelor Biochemistry (4th Semester)

  • Module number: 11-BCH-0417
  • Forms of teaching: Lecture (2 ECTS) and Internship (3 ECTS), tutorials are optional
  • Content: Detailed knowledge of metabolic pathways and its regulation, malfunction and pathogenesis, signal transduction mechanisms by protein kinases/phosphatases or gene regulation; new insights into the metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, amino acids, porphyrines and nucleotides.

Module for Bachelor Biochemistry, Biology and Chemistry

  • Module number: 11-BCH-0312 (biochemistry & biology) & 11-111-1152-N (chemistry)
  • Forms of teaching: Lecture (5 ECTS), Seminar (1 ECTS) and Internship (4 ECTS) - Bachelor chemistry without internship
  • Content: Acquisition of expertise about biologically relevant molecules: proteins, amino acids, nucleid acids, lipids, carbohydrates Kohlenhydrate; fundamentals of the most important metabolic pathways (glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, beta oxidation, fatty acid synthesis, electron transport chain, metabolism of amino acids and nucleic acids), protein biosynthesis (transcription, translation), introduction into cellular communication.

Module for Staatsexamen Teaching Profession Biology, Chemistry and Bachelor Informatics

  • Module number: 11-BIO-0554 (teaching profession biology) & 13-231-0433 (teaching profession chemistry as part of "Spezielle Kapitel der Physikalischen Chemie und Mineralogie") & 11-201-5101 (bachelor informatics)
  • Forms of teaching: Lecture (3 ECTS) and Internship (2 ECTS) - Bachelor chemistry and informatics without internship
  • Content: Introduction of biologically relevant molecules : amino acids, peptides, proteins, nucleic acids, lipids, and carbohydrates; crucial biochemical reactins for the synthesis of proteins, carbohydrates, nucleic acids and lipids; description of essential catabolic pathways (glycolysis, beta oxydation, oxydative phosphorylation, ATP synthesis).

Final Thesis and Advanded Practical Courses

We offer final theses (Bachelor & Master) and advanced practical courses to committed students (biochemistry, biology, chemistry etc.). If you are interested in our research, please send your application directly to Prof. Irene Coin.
